Ubuntu 10.04 VPN to Windows Server failing

I have created a VPN through network manager to a Windows 2003 server.

However when I try connecting it fails every time, I have tested with a windows XP client and this works so this would indicate I am doing something wrong in the network manager configuration.

I have managed to connect using the approach / settings detailed here:

However, I do get dropped from the VPN quite soon after connecting and have been unable to remote desktop to any machine on the network or view shared files.....
