Adobe AIR 2, RPM: not the best way?

    Hi,

Running Lucid 10.04 LTS -- Netbook remix, but "normal" desktop

I wanted Tweetdeck, and read a bunch of stuff about x64 bit that didn't seem to apply to me, but decided to blunder through. Went to Adobe's site to download, and it's an RPM file. Read I needed alien to convert an RPM and then install it. Before I proceed with this, is there a better (cleaner, more efficient, etc) way?

Thanks so much for your time.

If you visit http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/air2.html and scroll down the page, you will notice a link to download Adobe Air 2 RC for .deb.

Thank you! Um, I don't suppose you can point me at something to help me uninstall alien, now, can you? I kind of installed it before I thought better of it.

OK, then, now I'm even more embarrassed. The good news is that I finally understand a little better about packages, etc. and how they work. I've had pretty good luck with most of my linux installs and never really had to learn this stuff because most everything I did either "just worked" or didn't require additional software for what I needed it to do.

Thanks for answering obvious questions that I was too silly to figure out.
