i installed git-core and it was installed
then i tried to install svn using the command

    vijay@vijay-desktop:~$ sudo apt-get install svn

    output was:

    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
Package svn is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package svn has no installation candidate

plz help me urgently how to install it
