Linux is Latin for off-the-beaten-track what I like MOST about our Ubuntu ... The Community ie 50 brains are better than one Playing with Slackware too now ... ShanArt
I have only recently discovered this player. Previously I was running foobar2000 under WINE because I didn't like any of the native players.

I cannot make it work in Lucid 10.04 LTS, no sound. Anyone can help me setting up the preferences?
yes had the same simple answer go to Edit/Preferences/sound then pick output device default audio device see in the picture attached
yeah, works like that! thanks Also, i can play songs only when i marked them, right click open with deadbeef, drag and drop to playlist doesn't do anything.
AFAIK deadbeef cannot yet import playlists from other systems, but it is certainly a nice player. Regards, Phill.
Ubuntu Ethos
just use vlc
