Chrome says "profile could not be opened correctly"

This appears when I open Chrome. What can I do?

This started after Chrome crashed when I "pinned" a tab for the very first time. I have removed the "pin" but it didn't change anything.

You could always delete the .config/google-chrome folder, so that you're essentially starting over from scratch. You might want to copy out your bookmarks first, and restore them later, unless you're using sync.
