Hello everyone.
My Toshiba died today, and while malfunction doesn't seem serious I decided that time is right for an upgrade.
For a while I've been looking at Sony Vaio Z series. Web site says model number is VPCZ1190X. While I do understand that this is probably newest model in that series and hardware is probably not fully supported in Ubuntu am still willing to give it a try.
I am long time Ubuntu user and Windows is absolutely out of the question. Haven't touched that stuff in years, so Ubuntu is a MUST.
Here are the specs:
Other hardware specifics I didn't find on Sony web site. Essentially, I need WIFI and LAN to be fully functional. Power management is important but I can live without it (if suspend is not supported, backlight changing, etc.). I don't need bluetooth.Code:Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-540M Hard disk: SSD 128GB, raid 0 Memory: 4GB DDR3-1066 Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 330M GPU (1GB VRAM) with Intel® Graphics Chipset: Intel® HM57 Express Chipset Audio: Intel® High Definition Audio
Am hoping to hear some of your experiences with this series or laptops with similar hardware.
Thank you!
