    Recommend PCI Graphics Card Please?

I am triple booting Ubuntu 10.04, Windows 7 and XP.

I would like to buy a graphics card for my computer that will enable me to do the "wobbly windows" and transparent window edges etc in Ubuntu and that also does all the Windows Aero frosty edges etc when running in Windows 7.

I won't be playing any games, so I guess a fairly low spec one would be ok. I have a GeForce FX5200 card which does all the above but it is installed in my spare PC. I think this card is not available new now anyway.

    Any suggestions please?

you have a large choice either nvidia or ati, but be aware of all the marketing buzz about many "new" cards (in fact most of them are old ones renamed) and some with very high temperatures (and noise of course)

You can still find Nvidia 6800's about (fanless). I just recently got hold of an Nvidia 8400 GS (PCI - NOT PCI-Express) for @ £35. This is the best you can get for PCI, but I could only find ones that had a fan so a bit noisier than I would like.
