    VLC not scaling properly

If I maximize the VLC window or go to full screen, the movie does not go to 100% of the width or height, i.e. I have large black borders around the video.

I found a few posts describing this problem but none of them were answered.

    Does anyone have any insight?

    Re: VLC not scaling properly

instead of choosing maximize or fullscreen....have you tried just double-clicking on the video window itself as it is playing?

if that does not work....try going to tools > preferences

at the bottom of the vlc window > show settings > check "all"

then go to video > output modules > xvideo

put a check next to "alternative fullscreen method"

    -see if thats any better.

Thanks, that seems to have done the trick.
