Dear everyone,
I have been running Ubuntu 9.10 on a Lenovo T60 for about half a year, and sound was ok (although I needed to restart the computer every time I would want sound for an youtube).
A few weeks ago it simply dissapeared, and I am desperately trying to bring it back. I tried to follow the instructions at the link below, but no luck
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/10964...n-ubuntu-9.10/
Here's more specifics:
uname -a
Linux IndianCreek 2.6.31-21-generic #59-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 24 07:28:56 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux
aplay -l

cat /proc/asound/version
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.23.
Compiled on May 23 2010 for kernel 2.6.31-21-generic (SMP).
head -n 1 /proc/asound/card*/codec#*
Codec: Analog Devices AD1981
If anyone has any ideas with regards to what avenue I need to pursue (get rid of ALSA and go with OSS; buy a different sound card) to get the sound back, I would remain indebted for life
Also, a link to the output of the ALSA script for my system:
