    New personal record!

566 tabs in one window! I decided to make a composite screenshot:

http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/9904/composite1.png (PNG image, roughly 2 Mib. Imageshack refused to generate a thumbnail for some reason.)

Note that I did not just hold down control-t for a while. These all arose from normal (for me) web-browsing.

At some point I will be writing a (rather critical) essay about how well Firefox reacts under stress.

WOW! How much RAM did it take to do that?

    Re: New personal record!

I'm not sure, I didn't check. I've since shaved it down to 558, and RAM usage of Firefox is now 1.3 Gib. (I have plenty of memory left though.)

Firefox's CPU usage was consistently between 40-70% (Core i5 Arrandale, dual-core, hyper-threading enabled, clock range between 1.20 and 2.53 Ghz.) Scrolling through the tab list would invariably drive the CPU usage up higher though. This caused it to become very unresponsive, to the point where I needed a 40-second timer on the screenshot tool just to get the list to the right place each time.

I'm trying PHP, so my code can probably be labelled "bad and insecure"

Normally, I try to keep it under 290. Any higher, and performance starts to suffer noticeably (especially for Flash.)

No, I don't "keep track" of them all-- I normally am only using two or three at a time.

I use mouse gestures on firefox, so I'm always closing tabs.
I couldn't possible keep track of what I'm doing with so many tabs, but still it's interesting. I didn't know the browser could handle so many.
