I am lost and not sure even where I should post my query, here it is: I am using ubuntu 10.04, and since this morning, my mouse scroll wheel is apparently "locked" to use only for volume. Normally, mouse wheel actions volume up or down, but only when I hover over the volume applet, now this action of the scroll wheel occurs regardless of where I am in desktop environment. This causes bigger problem, in that I can no longer use wheel to scroll in browser (firefox). Regardless of what application I am in, rolling the mouse wheel, allways increases or decreases the volume. Would be mighty appreciative of any advice or direction you could give me. Thanks
Same issue here. Can anybody tell what need to be done?
Hi, i had this problem on my laptop, though the touchpad scrolled ok removing the batteries for a few seconds, from my wireless mouse cured it for me. unplugging a wired mouse should serve the same purpose. slainte peter
Same symptoms. HP Pavilion g, Ubuntu 12.04, wireless laser mouse logitech. My wireless mouse usually signals for battery depletion stopping the scrolling. But this time it gives some "additional signal" starting volume applet. Solution - change batteries ! Regards !
