    Question Can't boot Ubuntu 10.04 disc

    I can't seem to get Ubuntu to run on my old Dell Dimension 2300. It boots to a purple screen then it goes to a black screen with a load of writing nothing else happens after this screen.

    Could someone advise how I can get it to work?

    whats the boot disk x86/x64/amd/amd64? Make sure you are using the correct version for your processor type.
