Hi,
As you probably figured out from the Subject of this post... i can't get my scanner from Pixma MP250 to work.
Because i don't have experience using Linux i can't go any further from where I am now: i tried "solutions" until i crashed my new ubuntu 10.04 system
I tried these two guides for inspiration and other forum posts without success:
http://mp610.blogspot.com/2008/04/gi...shly-sane.html
and
http://ubuntica.com/pixma-mp250-on-ubuntu.html
One of the authors think that i should download the latest version of SANE and build? it (configure, make, make install).
The other author thinks that i should combine the SANE with the official drivers.
Hm... After doing the above mentioned i could print and move the lamp of the scanner (the image is not retrieved because i'm getting, after a while, an Error during read:Error during device I/O)
-----------------
So... the official drivers are available [the Sources and some Debian Packages (probably made for ubuntu 9.04)] and SANE mention that it has support for my scanner. Why i can't get this to work then
I noticed that i can detect my scanner from my Pixma MP250 only after i take the sources from SANE and i build? them . Why is this happening? (i think i can detect it after installing the Debian package with the drivers from the official website but the scanner doesn't even move)
I also tried to build the official driver for the scanner but i could not do this... i could not install the dependencies . I crashed my system after many tries to solve the Can't link to Pango. Pango is required to build error... and i had Pango installed
Maybe the debian packages, build? for an older version of ubuntu, doesn't run as it should be on my ubuntu 10.04. Hm.. if so, how can install the gtk+ on my system (dependency for building the drivers) using the Synaptic Package manager? (because this way i won't have to deal with dependences myself)

I'm not coherent right now after so many hours with a monitor in my face... sorry for that. Any suggestions?
