Pause of about 30 seconds during boot

I posted the full dmesg.
I am using a powerful mac pro with 8 cores. Previous version of ubuntu was booting much faster.

It is only an extract of the dmesg, i could output the entire thing, but I was afraid it might contain personal info.

I'm not necessarily after a 10-second bootup; honestly, 10 or 30 is pretty much the same, but it really bothers me that it just stands there seemingly doing nothing. That and my display problems (see http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1468647 and http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1461210) are the only things that really prevent me from fully enjoying this new distro =)

One thing that seems a little bit off in your bootchart is that ureadahead doesn't seem to do anything. If ureadahead doesn't do it's job, boot will be quite a bit slower. But I can see no 30s pause anywhere in the bootchart, so I think your dmesg just doesn't report everything.

Now I applied the latest ubuntu updates. Boot speed improved by 15 seconds!
