    Step through DVD frames?

I quite like watching DVDs in Totem, but one feature I miss from a Windows equivalent DVD player is the ability to pause and then advance or reverse in single frames. I can't see how to do this with Totem. Can you do this with any other DVD players?
    Thanks.

    try using smplayer
    open a terminal type smplayer
it tells you how to install it

    hope this helps

    Re: Step through DVD frames?

Thanks. Tried smplayer and here are my experiences:

    1) you can repeatedly click the pause button to advance by single frames (I assume they're single frames?). But there is no reverse step-back option, though as a workaround you can click the back 10 frames option and then step forward again from that.

    2) I like to be able to take a snapshot of a paused frame, and there is an option for this in smplayer, but I have no idea where the snapshots are being saved! Any ideas? There is no dialogue box to name and locate snapshot images.

    3) smplayer seems a bit buggy to me: after pausing a DVD, pressing play does not lift the pause -- using the plus or minus 10 seconds option seems to refresh the window display to restart play.
