    Finding public/share folders in Ubuntu

Hey guy's I have a share folder on my desktop in the network running Karmic. I installed Lucid on my laptop not long ago and I wanted to transfer stuff over through my share folder to my laptop but the only thing coming up in the network folder is "Windows Network" which just fails when I try to open it. Is there something in particular I have to do, this is a clean install of Lucid I have done very little since installing it. I'm about to do a clean install on my desktop as well I was just going to get my laptop all set up first.

    Thanks a lot !

bump again. To clarify a little, I now have lucid on both my desktop and laptop and theres this one folder I right clicked and set it to share the folder, if I type the address in windows it finds my computer and then that folder is there and I can grab anything I need. Lucid doesn't see the folder in the network folder, does anyone know the correct folder path to the network. For example if my desktop name is a-desktop, then in windows its //a-desktop and I'm there. What is it in Lucid?
