    Unhappy ubuntu Installation on intel i5 64 bit

    Can anyone help me with a quick question?
    I just bought a new Dell Studio Laptop with Intel i5 64 bit processor with Windows 7.
    I installed ubuntu with in my Windows 7 through CD and also tried to run it by installing it on Pen drive. But it just boots perfectly but get stuck with blank screen after that.
    Plz help.

    Did you install using WUBI? That is, were you in Windows when you installed Ubuntu? Or did you boot the CD and then install on the same disk as Windows 7?

    When you start the PC, do you see the GRUB screen that asks if you want to boot Ubuntu or Windows? Or is this where the screen is blank so you cannot tell?

    i experienced the same thing before.
    this what i did, i fixed the boot settings for my Win.7 using the DVD. the program called "repair" and select something related to boot.
    and then i fixed the grub setting for ubuntu.

    i wasnt really sure what happened that time, but it worked.

    maybe we got different situation, because last time i was a stupid noob and try to install Ubuntu using WUBI on the same HDD with Windows.
