Photo management (Raw)

Can anyone tell me what is the best program on Ubuntu that will download picture files in Raw format from my Nikon D3000 and correct them, and do the usual stuff to make a colour-balanced, photo that can be saved in another format - say Tiff?

You can try the following:

Bibble 5 pro
Picasa 3
Rawtherapee
Rawstudio
UFraw (can be used with Gimp or alone)
DigiKam
PhotoShop Elements and certain versions of PhotoShop will work with CameraRaw in Wine

There are probably others too.

My main editor is Bibble which I use for jpegs too. There is a trial version available.

I shoot with a Nikkon D24 and have had exellent luck with Digicam to adjust light and contrast settings, then Gimp for everything else.

I also use Bibble but the other applications mentioned are good as well (and some are free!).

I just read about an f-spot addon that allows you to export to bibble 5 and it automagically imports edits so you could use f-spot to organize and bibble to process if that's your fancy.

I think f-spot can also organize and export to UFRaw as well.
