    A link to that post would help avoid double questions, like about the output of lsusb.

    Anyway, this is the thread you are referring to:
    http://newyork.ubuntuforums.org/show....php?p=8066696

    The relevant part:

    I googled on the id of your wifi card and came up with this howto:
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1285828

    It looks slightly challenging, but definitely worth a try.
    edit: actually reading it again, Id say forget that approach. Try the below one instead/

    Another "solution" could be to install Windows Wireless Drivers from ubuntu software center, and use that to install windows drivers for the stick.

    Lightbulb Re: Dynamode 11G wireless USB (help please)

    A quick glance in google did not reveal any Linux support for this specific wi-fi adapter model.
    Issue the following commands in the console in the hope that they may help to reveal the type of chipset your dongle uses and then try to see if it is supported in Linux with native drivers:

    Code:
    sudo lshw -C network
    sudo lsusb -v
    If not you can always use ndiswrapper and use the windows drivers that came with your wi-fi dongle I guess...

    Re: Dynamode 11G wireless USB (help please)

    Hi DaSkinna;

    we can only admire your patience that you have got by for seven months without your wireless access;

    and then that you went ahead and installed 9.10 without checking if your wireless usb device would work;

    here is a list that Ubuntu has of usb devices that should work

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...USB%20Adapters

    if you disclose what country you live in, folks may be able to help you better, as the lsusb is the most helpful command to describe what the innards of your device are

    ..... so I am saying .... what about looking for a device that would work more easily, and thus help you?

    eg here is a thread from another forum

    http://forums.opensuse.org/get-help-...orks-ootb.html

    where someone asks for recommendations and various devices are recommended as working OOTB

    Of course he can buy another wifi stick, but I would definitely try "windows wireless drivers" first, there is no reason to assume that wouldnt work.
