Need some help finding a laptop.

Ok. Here's the deal. My mother wants a new laptop. Currently she has an old IBM Thinkpad with a PII and 128 MB RAM that I jerry rigged to run 9.04 (don't ask, long story). She wants me to find her a better one (obviously better meaning damned near anything). I've spent the last several hours hunting the net for right one and can't find anything with the proper hardware. Here's what I need.

Minimum specs:

Intel dual core
2 GB RAM
100 GB HDD
nVidia 128 MB Graphics
17 inch screen (bigger is much better)
Wireless must work out of the box
Around $500
NOT Dell

Its going to get Ubuntu 9.10

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I might even go so far as to post an excellent Banana Bread recipe!
