Guys, according to linux hybrid graphics blog:

Testers needed: intel/nvidia: bumblebee now with 32bit and 64bit support
For all of you with an intel/nvidia hybrid laptop under Linux interested in getting the nvidia card to work and willing to spend a bit of time testing, please have a try at the latest bumblebee release:

    sudo apt-get install git
    # type password
    git clone https://github.com/MrMEEE/bumblebee.git
    cd bumblebee/
    sudo ./install.sh
    optirun glxgears
    # check the speed and compare to running:
    glxgears

If you get stuck at any point, generate a bug report with:
    sudo sh ./install-files/bumblebee-bugreport

Create a bugreport on github (URL below) and email mj@casalogic.dk the
bug report along with the issue number:

    https://github.com/MrMEEE/bumblebee/issues
Anyone tested this already on asus k52jc?

    hi

did anyone tested the new bioses 214 or 215 released on may? mine is 212 and is working fine ... I wouldn't like to have a new brick

any way to know what are the improvements (the 215 states "Fix: WLAN LED can't work normal")

edit: flashed with 215, works as usual

I did. Easy to install and works very well on my K52JC.

As a result, TORCS (the 3D racing car game) now runs and looks way better. The battery last longer too which I appreciate. I sure will do some other comparisons.

I guess the downside is an increase of system ressources due to a second X server and VirtualGL. Anyway the author definitely deserves a thumbs up for this major breakthrough and again the video performance improvement is very significant.

paologab, how did you flash the new bios 215? I didn't find any explanation on how to do it.

Edit: OK, I did it. Asus k52 bios contains an utility called EasyFlash (on the advanced tab of the bios) to update itself safely.

Yeah, i just got nvidia working too. It's cool. I'm running Kubuntu natty, anyway we just need a way to make "Kwin" to use nvidia for its desktop effects. Intel sucks a bunch doing that job.

    Re: Asus K52 / Asus A52

Hello! I am running into the same wireless led problem on my K52De as DamiRocK here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...97#post9576897

Fn+F2 is working, but the led is always on.
I ran cat /sys/class/ieee80211/phy0/rfkill*/state and cat /sys/devices/platform/asus_laptop/wlan. Both give me an output of 1 when the wireless is enabled, and 0 when it isn't.

I've already PMed DamiRocK, but in the meantime does anyone know of a solution to this? Thanks!

    Hi - inexperienced newcomer here!

If I read this thread correctly will I be right in thinking that 11.04 will work pretty much out of the box on a Asus X52F-EX582V. I was planning on a dual boot system with the pre-installed Windows 7.

I was planning on getting this one:
    http://www.coopelectricalshop.co.uk/...X52F_EX582V-BR

Could anyone confirm if this is right please? Any pointers on what I am proposing would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
