I've been using Ubuntu 10.04 from day one and I'm upgrading my system almost everyday. Though I could normally use special desktop compiz effects, selecting it through the Appearance -> Visual Effects -> Extra, after a certain upgrade (unfortunatelly I don't remember which packages were involved) my system, at first, stopped showing window title bars - fixed that by selecting "None" at Visual effects. From that point forth, whether I select Normal or Extra Visual Effects, all I get is a dialog searching for available video card drivers, then the system seems to update the window title bars and all, however nothing changes.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Maybe need to reconfigure something concerning the X-Server?
My system is running on a Sony Vaio VGN-A137M (specs) laptop which has an ATI Mobility Radeon X600 video card.
UPDATE: I tried following the advice on the stickered thread concerning my matter, but without success.
