Watch and discuss.
Who cares? This is a Linux forum, and that's not real. What's there to discuss?
That's what she said.
I've seen better concepts than this. This one just looks cartoonish.
>_> Log-in screen was bad.
All these concepts focus on finishing touches to the UI.
When will they dispense with the registry?
When will defrag no longer be necessary?
When will constant rebooting no longer be necessary?
When will they make it lean enough to run on older hardware too?
That's what I'd like to know.
Eternally confused.
Very good point. I frustrates me when people only consider the UI and not the OS itself. Sure this is what the user sees but it's what's under the hood that mostly matters
- "Make me a coffee..."
- "No"
- "sudo make me a coffee"
- "OK"
Microsoft could be give me Windows 8 free, but I would still use Ubuntu. I have got so used to Ubuntu everything else seems rubbish.
I do have to use Windows at work, but when I get back home its a pleasure to boot up Ubuntu.

Selection of tutorials and tips.
Well, after all since people always judge anything within 10 seconds, the splash and the login screens are obviously the most important thing in an OS.
Never mind a crappy and slow browser that blocks everything.
MS IE 8 (Vista x64): acid3.acidtest.org: 12/100 -> crash after 12/100 -> (time this has taken: 1 m 30 sec)
Google Chrome (Vista x64): acid3.acidtest.org: 100/100 -> (time this has taken: 3 sec)

In a world without walls and fences, who needs Windows and Gates?
Linux is like a wigwam.... no Gates, no Windows but Apache inside!
