    Hi and welcome!

Maybe it is useful for you to learn something about your installed system and you can download the manual at: http://ubuntu-manual.org/downloads and choose the release which are you using. Also here is something in case for a quick glance: https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/ubuntu-help/index.html - However for problems post them and someone try to help you.

For a Latitude 610 I would recommend Xubuntu.

    Hi and welcome Crowley666,

Join in and ask as many questions as you wish on the Beginners Forum - there are many here only too pleased to help.

With any thread you start, keep in mind to give it a descriptive and appropriate heading - this greatly assists others.

Installing Ubuntu onto a USB is relatively easy - just ask for guidance. Soon you will be a seasoned user.

    Cheers and good luck -

Cool Re: Welcome to the Forums - Introduce yourself here

Hi. I have used ubuntu off and on but never made the permanent switch, until recently. I guess that makes me still a noob. Ubuntu saved a netbook that was purchased a few years ago. Without ubuntu, my netbook would still be in my closet collecting dust.

I hope to learn a lot from this o.s. that saved my life. lol.

    Hello, Again!

    Hello Everybody,

I've been out of the loop for about 6 months as I dealt with some personal/family related things that kept me offline. I'm looking forward to getting back into the grind, meeting all the new comers since I was away, and getting back to helping Ubuntu be the best it can be.

Re: Welcome to the Forums - Introduce yourself here

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forums and hopefully I can learn and help out other people along the way. I've been using different distros since about 2008. I recently started running ubuntu 12.04 full time on my laptop. I didn't even allow the computer to boot Windows 8 one time. Booted straight from my USB stick to the ubuntu installation, and I'm finding day to day use with ubuntu is far more enjoyable than Windows.

My main reason for running ubuntu full time is to one, free myself from Windows and two, learn as much as I can about the linux terminal and scripting. My prior use was mainly to perform work related tasks, such as Apache web hosting, data recovery, and data backup/transfers. I work in the IT field and figure knowing linux can only help me with my career.

Anyway Hello everyone, nice to meet you!
