I decided a while back that Ubuntu was not for me 😥
After trying an arch based distro and finding that scanner didn't work unless you sacrifice a goat at the full moon, went back to m$.
Yeuck
Tried Ubuntu again, and everything just works.
Think I may just have rediscovered my forever distro.
Currently using xubuntu 22.04 LTS and the only issue is getting wallpapers to display correctly. But that's down to resolution and easily fixed
Hope this time to be around for quite a while.
Welcome.
Really? What make, model of scanner is it?...finding that scanner didn't work...
I have never experienced any issues configuring scanners to work with *buntu. By the way I am long term user of Xubuntu. Post your problem in the Hardware forum to get some help at possibly resolving your scanner issue.
Hi him610
I have no issues with it in Ubuntu only arch based.
Buntu just sees it and everything works.
Glad I gave up, I've run out of goats

Hi, my name is Ingrid Guerci.
A quick little introduction about myself getting involved with the ultimate Linux.
A friend of mine introduced me to Linux, so I spent ages researching about Linux and he was saying how great Linux is than Windows, then he told me just install Ubuntu wipe Windows altogether. So I did that and the first time I did it i managed to screw up the installation somehow. Had to re-install again. Worked out well second time round.
So tried Ubuntu for a while and I was loving it way better than Windows Now I don't like Windows anymore.

Here the only dumb question is the one that you did not ask.

Hey everyone, I'm Nic from Nova Scotia. I'm a self employed welder and open-source programs like open office, freecad, inkscape etc... have greatly helped me start my own small business. I recently found a spare hard drive in a junk drawer and while wondering what I should do with it, I decided to install it in my laptop and put Linux on it. I've messed around with Linux in the passed but I feel like it's come a long way since the last time I used it.
