    something interesting about ati drivers...

I just noticed something really weird goin on. If I use the open source drivers, everything (minimizing windows, animations, moving windows) is instant. it has a pretty low framerate though. When using the propriety ati drivers, it takes several seconds for any animation to occur, but has a higher framerate. I tried the open source drivers with the glx drivers from the proprity drivers I just installed. same issue. what is with the ati opengl drivers that causes this?

    Throughput vs. latency.

It's not that either one is faster than the other, it's just a different kind of fast

i wonder. are their options in the xorg.conf that can fix the latency problems? and does anyone else have this problem?(this is on a 3650 mobility)
