    How to identify daemons?

Well i have a neighbor who loves the devil and..... =]

Well now for real, im running nmap on a site ( nmap www.example.com -sV -O ) to "deface it" ( it's actually a friend's site, he gave me permission to practice with he's site, but of course i'll have to patch the bug latter )

But it's pretty much my first time "defacing". So as far as i know one of the first steps is to identify the daemons running, and find a bug on them.

But i don't really know how to identify a daemon, if you could post some info on here, i'll appreciate it.

Also if you have any good defacing tut, it would be great.

I could give you the nmap info i got, but i really want to do it on my own.

    Greetings!! and thanks!

I'm leaving this thread closed for now: there are plenty of other sites where the requested information can be found.
