Re: HOWTO: Monitor Mode on Broadcom 14e4:4315 and 14e4:432* Wireless Cards

All I'm getting from any attempt to put the card (bcm4328) into monitor mode with any tool is either an explicit

Ndiswrapper does not support monitor mode

    message, or from iwconfig
    Code:
    $sudo iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.
I followed the tut exactly and received no errors. No conflicting modules are running, all are blacklisted. What could it be?

WildWillie: I'm pretty sure the "Ndiswrapper does not support monitor mode" error only happens when you run aircrack-ng. I'll take a look at the source code soon. Does it work for Kismet?

WildWillie, Mr. Popo: About this error:

    Code:
    $sudo iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.
    Try running:

    Code:
    sudo ifconfig wlan0 down
    first, then run:

    Code:
    sudo iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor
    sudo ifconfig wlan0 up
    Laptop broke ...

I have the exact same thing, 8B06. Can't use Monitor Mode for some reason.

So yeah I wanna get aircrack going but can't at the moment ...

    Have the asme problem.

Only ndiswrapper reports that my card alternative driver is ssb

Have tested broadcom drivers from this post and lenovo broadcom drivers.
Have network card installed in lenovo s10-s. maybe there is something wrong with hardware revision.
