    Ubuntu installation

I am using Windows XP and I want to have spare Linux installed on memory stick from which I would be able to boot my computer in case Windows fails.

I downloaded ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386 package on C:\ drive in directory ubuntu. Extraction was performed into the same directory ubuntu. I double clicked wubi.exe. And I got exception error "Exception Processing Message c0000013..." What did I wrong?

Try the instructions on this page for creating an bootable installation to your memory stick.

    Hi. Try unetbootin

    http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net

Works every time for me. just used it to run 10.04 on this laptop(on it at the minute) and used it to install 10.04 on my home pc.

Try the usb-creator that comes with Ubuntu, it will make a Live USB that saves changes, (Persistent).
For this you need to boot from the Ubuntu live CD though.
