    starling upgradability

    quick question,

is it possible to upgrade the ram and hard drive in the starling, and if so how easy it it.

Main question is if the mobo and processor in the starling supports 4gb single stick of ram such as this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231202

I also eventually want to replace the default hard drive with an SSD such as the intel x-25, is this relatively simple?

Is there any documentation on safely opening the starling? thanks in advance for any info.

    -chris

The RAM and hard drive in the Starling are not user-accessible.

Someday we'll hit the human carrying capacity. And the band will just play on. -Me

I'm trying PHP, so my code can probably be labelled "bad and insecure"

Really?! even with all those screws on the bottom? Do you just mean not easily accessible or would I risk breaking it even attempting it?

what do I do if the hard drive fails, do I just have to replace the whole thing?

If the ram is embedded in the mobo thats one thing but not being able to access the hard drive is disappointing to say the least.

There are no compartments on the bottom of the Starling to allow users access to the memory and hard drive.

Removing the whole bottom panel to access those things is a bit risky, and if you damage the machine while attempting to remove it, that would not be covered under warranty.

If components go bad in the Starling, we bring it to our repair facility.
