OOo writer numbering

Hi

I'd like to do my numbering like this in open office writer:

1. a. i.
------ii.
------iii.
---b.
---c.
2. a.
---b.
etc...

but I have no idea how to get it to work with automatic numbering.

hope you can understand the spacing I tried to represent with dashes.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for your reply, but I really want to get 1. (a) and i. on the same line. I'm answering questions for assignments and I don't have anything to put on the line where it has 1. or a. as there are multiple parts to each question
