I need help with gtkpod!

My problem is that gtkpod doesn't detect my ipod anymore, even if its connected of course. I simply don't understand why? Is there also another Ubuntu software that's out there better gtkpod, that's able to sync and edit music and videos properly.

Sadly I cant think of anything better other than installing xp in virtualbox + guest additions and itunes. Thats what i have to do and it's pretty lame having to transfer music from ubuntu to a virtual machine via a shared "network" folder then importing it into itunes and syncing.

Needless to say i don't update my ipod very often anymore.

I've been looking for the same thing so I'll keep an eye on this thread and also will let you know if I ever come up with something.

Is GtkPod dead - no longer developed?
We've got the latest version, but that's a year old and doesn't work with a 2GB silver shuffle. It moans about the file being too small or something.

Is a fix ever likely, or can anyone recommend a non-Windows alternative?

The problem is solved, I simply had to sudo update and upgrade thats all!
