    Help with nvidia 9800gt

    hi im all new to ubuntu and forums so just excuse any dum questions. i installed ubuntu 9.10 last week and i runs great except for my grafix card drives. if read a lot of forums about how to install it but i doen't get far. i have a nvidia 9800 GT but can't get the drivers installed. if download NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-195.36.15-pkg2.run but i have no clue how to install them. i get the directary in the terminal were the are saved but can't get them installed can somebody please help me

    Just open restricted device manager under the system menu. Install the driver that is recommended. If you want the latest drivers with hardware acceleration for video then look at this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...ighlight=vdpau
    Just enable the ppa and follow the instructions on the thread.

    Indeed, go to System/Administration/Hardware Drivers and enable the driver (I recommend 185). I have the same card at home, it works great.

    i see the 185 driver is loaded thanx alot
