Evolution error while fetching mail - failed to read a valid greeting from POP server

    Hi,

Evolution always has the error message:

    "Error while fetching mail":
    >>"Failed to read a valid greeting from POP server mail.[mydomainname].com"

The error occurs for both of my domain names.

Is there something I can change in the Evolution Settings to solve this problem?

    Many thanks!

It means that the POP servers are not communicating with Evolution, do you actually have POP servers set up and running correctly?

I too get this error message. It only happens when I try to enable SSL on the incoming pop. it doesn't mind using SSL on the outgoing but just wont get mail for me using SSL no matter what I do.

I don't have a problem with other email from my hosting provider, just my ISP so maybe the problem is with them.

    ant ideas?
