10.04 Urban Terror x64 Menu Error

The version of the game is the latest. It was downloaded and extracted from the .zip file. I am running 10.04 Lucid Lynx AMD64. When I start the game in 64-bit, it shows the Frozen Sand logo, and then dumps me to a console with various errors. I have verified this exact package to work with Ubuntu Karmic and Debian Sid. As a side note when running sudo lshw -C display my colors had various errors as if they were both negative and rainbow. Only a reboot will fix. This happens if I use the 2.9 or 2.10 Intel driver.

    Why I posted this bug:
I want to see how I can report this as a bug on Ubuntu. It is a Lucid specific issue, so there might be some other problem.

My GPU info is as follows:

I'm experiencing the same problem. + the 32bit runs too slow.
Please let us know if you find a fix or something.

Re: 10.04 Urban Terror x64 Menu Error

The 32 does run slow on mine as well. I am assuming you have an Intel based chip? If not then the issue might not be display related.

Like I said, I do not have this issue using Debian or Karmic. (Though its still fairly slow in Karmic)

Re: 10.04 Urban Terror x64 Menu Error

I experienced the same problem during the urt loading process with the 64 bits version of Lucid. Under Karmic, I had no problem both with i386 and x86_64

Anyone managed to play UrbanTerror with Lucid 64 bits ?!

Re: 10.04 Urban Terror x64 Menu Error

I am still hoping for a solution to this but I am unsure where to post the bug. It is obviously Lucid specific. Perhaps someone could ask at Urban Terror forums, and post the console output there? I will do so soon, but I have Karmic installed. It might be easier if someone who is currently on lucid did so, and I could just concur with the findings there.

    I have a fix !

I've already posted on the official forums about it: http://forums.urbanterror.info/topic...ts-lucid-lynx/

    But better, I HAVE A FIX :

The optimized version of the executable works !

    http://www.www0.org/w/Optimized_executable%3b_builds_of_ioq3_engine_for_ urt#Downloads

So, the bug seems to come from the executable

Thank you very much I will try and get back to you. From what I debugged it did look like some sort of runtime compiling issue.

Same problem here, and ioq3-urt doesn't work here (can't load default.cfg)

Even logging at logs shows nothing about why it does this. >_<

There's a link for an optimized launcher here:
