You can edit /etc/modules as root with your favorite editor like vi, vim or nano like this:
    Code:
    # /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time.
    #
    # This file contains the names of kernel modules that should be loaded
    # at boot time, one per line. Lines beginning with "#" are ignored.

    lp
    ngene
    Try
    Code:
    lsmod | grep ngene
Only if the ngene module is loaded you will b e able to setup the card.

    greetings,
    ben
    Did that. Cheers Ben!

Rebooted and will see if I can scan etc now.

    Re: Help with DVB-S2 installation

    Hmmmm, still can't scan.
Followed the guide here and did a channel scan but got the following for every freq:
    HTML Code:
    DVB-S IF freq is 1802000
    WARNING: >>> tuning failed!!!
    >>> tune to: 12402:v:0:27500 (tuning failed)
    DVB-S IF freq is 1802000
    WARNING: >>> tuning failed!!!
    >>> tune to: 12441:v:0:27500
    DVB-S IF freq is 1841000
    WARNING: >>> tuning failed!!!
    >>> tune to: 12441:v:0:27500 (tuning failed)
    DVB-S IF freq is 1841000
    Any ideas?
Thanks a million for your help by the way.
I'm making progress at least thanks to you.

    Re: Help with DVB-S2 installation

    Think I got it.
Its picking up channels when I run
    Code:
    scan -x0 /usr/share/dvb/dvb-s/Astra-28.2E | tee channels.conf
It was a brain fart moment, I have only 1 feed into my dual tuner at the moment so it was looking to the wrong input. Changed it to the other input and its finding channels now.
Looks like I'm on the final stretch.

    Re: Help with DVB-S2 installation

    Hi!
I'm also relatively new to Linux, but am gradually picking up pace.
I have a Terratec Cinergy 2400iDT card. Reading here and here and here, they are essentially the same card, and therefore the steps described in this post should work.
Unfortunately, after following the instructions above step by step, the card is not seen by TVHeadend.
I also have a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR1200 card inserted, and this works fine. I was hoping however to make use of the dual tuner capability of the Terratec.
    My dmesg is as follows:
    Code:
