Would the OP stand away from the unit a LUG has been paged in your area and will be along shortly to cure the infection =D
I have played on win 7 a couple of times on other peoples machines and although I freely admit MS seem to have got it right this time I don't actually like using it and much prefer my Ubuntu.

"Windows Vista Sir?"
"No thanks, I'd rather shove wasps up my nostrils!"
sorry to hear my eeepc runs on zandros and works fine ever since i got it mabe you need to get rid of your virus (win 7) ?
That is correct. I believe the OP is talking about a compatibility option that Windows offers to try and keep a better backwards compatibility.
Yes XP is a fairly old OS, but many people have the philosophy of "If it Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It". From my viewpoint, MS reached the top of their OS game with Win2K or XP and it is down hill from there. I haven't seen real compelling reasons to consider an upgrade from there. I personally didn't like XP and prefer 2K, but that is me. But, I almost made the conversion to Linux in the 90's, but inability to work with others in business at the time kept me from it.
I think XP will be around for a long time yet. Even 98 is still hanging on, though getting fewer and fewer.
No it won't, unless people don't replace their harddrives if they die:
