No trackpad Ubuntu 9.10 First gen Macbook Pro

    Hi all,
I've installed Ubuntu 9.04 from the CD on my Intel Core Duo Macbook Pro (first generation). All was well, and wanted to upgrade, so I updated the distro to 9.10. My only problem now is that the touchpad doesn't work. I can plug in a mouse and use it fine, so that's ok, but no touchpad/trackpad.

I've searched the forums but couldn't find any threads relating to this. Can someone point me to a thread or perhaps a link for a solution?

    Thanks very much!

I can only give you the quite general hint that a lot (or at least some) people have experienced a lot trouble with 9.10 after upgrading from an earlier version.

Most of them were helped by installing 9.10 from scratch instead. I don't know if that's an option for you, but I guess it might be good to know.
