I really have trouble sorting through all the feedback I get when using commands,
You don't have to sort through it, we, who read and write this wonderful alien language called Ubuntu, will sort through it for you and help you get to the answer. When you enter the commands in a terminal, you can copy and paste the result to your posting reply. We will then interpret it and help you get connected.

[ 20.570782] b43-phy0 ERROR: You must go to http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/...devicefirmware and download the correct firmware for this driver version. Please carefully read all instructions on this website.
Can you hook up an ethernet cable and get connected so we can download files? If so, we can solve this quickly and easily.

Yeah I have a jump drive that I've been switching back and forth in order to post those copypastas. I need to download a "b43/ucode5.fw" from that website, correct?

You need b43-fwcutter from here: http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/b43-fwcutter

From the website referenced, you need this: http://downloads.openwrt.org/sources...0.10.5.tar.bz2

Then open a terminal and do:
    Code:
    sudo dpkg -i b43-fwcutter*
    tar xjf broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5.tar.bz2
    cd broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5/driver
    sudo b43-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware/ wl_apsta_mimo.o
Reboot. Your wireless should spring to life.

Post back if you get stuck.

and i've got to give you credit for making me realize i already had generic drivers in the same scenario. competing drivers was the real symptom and blacklist was the solution. many tanks.
