    Trouble changing specific launcher icons

I just installed ubuntu 9.10 and I'm wondering how to change the icons for individual launchers on the desktop, ones I have on the panel and ones I have in my launcher menu.

I know to change desktop themes and all of that, but I just want to edit individual icons without having to pick apart my theme's setting. In xcfe, I was always just able to right-click on the icon and go to Properties. It would give me the option to change the icon right there. But that option isn't there when I go to the icon's properties in gnome.

Am I missing something? This seems like it would be a simple fix.

Right-click the launcher, go to properties. You'll see the launcher's name, etc... and its curren icon. Just click on it, and a dialog will appear, where you can change the icon.
In the properties window, the icon itself is a button, actually.

    Thanks Gadolinio,
I've been trying to find the location for some of those launcher icons so I can edit one. For some reason I can't get my Audacity logo to display with all the colors it usually has, so I'm going to tinker around with color settings in Gimp. This really helped.

Having the same issue. I was fooling around with the different bisigi themes and I noticed that when I enabled certain ones, such as bamboo zen, my help icon changed from the blue question mark to the lifesaver.

Ha, thanks gadolinio, I knew the solution had to be obvious. Can't believe I never tried just clicking the pic under properties.

I discovered that just because the icon was on some kind of button-like elevation, and it felt like it needed to be clicked on But i wasn't expecting it to be the change icon prompt.
