problems with jacks solved by adding to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf followinf line:
options snd-hda-intel model="olpc-xo-1_5".
problem with internal mic is still waiting for solution.
i see thread is dead, yeah?
any case, i steel have problem with cpu temperature.
about 30 min ago i turned on netbook, logged in and runned gkrellm (to monitor cpu temperature)
nothing else was opened by me, no work was doing on netbook. it just lay on wood table.
during that 30 min cpu temperature increased from 50 C (also a question: why cpu temperature is 50 C on startup if it was turned of for about an hour) from 55 C.
i still worry about it. there was no such problem under win7.

How hot does it run in Win7? Does it feel warmer (back is hot, fans run more often, etc) or could it simply be the sensor isn't being read accurately?
Search first, ask questions later!
From Thread Tools, "Mark this thread as solved" if your problem's been solved.
If the battery life when idle is a lot better on Win7 than Ubuntu, or if the computer feels noticeably warmer/fans run more often (does this model even have fans?) it probably is running hotter.
But if the battery life is similar or it doesn't feel any hotter, it could be an issue with lm-sensors, libsensors, or whatever you're using to read the tempsensors with.

Alright, I just got one of these last night.
Thanks to this thread I was able to get the touchscreen working.
I also added fennec (awesome on a touchscreen) and onboard.
I am now working on screen rotation. I would like to script something like this...
xrandr -o left && xsetwacom set stylus Rotate CCW
exit 0
except we aren't using xsetwacom. xrandr works to rotate the screen, but I need to rotate the touchsreen driver. Does anyone know how I could rotate the touchscreen from the command line?
I'm very interested in this netvertible, and I find this thread to be very helpful. But before I buy it, I need some questions to be answered. Can you guys help me with them?
- Does multitouch work? What are the recognized gestures (two-finger scroll, pinch-zoom, etc)?
- Is the screen responsive? Are the gestures fluid and smooth?
- How is the performance of UNR? any noticable lags or hiccups?
- Have anyone tried running Plasma Netbook? how is it?
- How is battery life?
- What hw/components doesn't work? Accelerometer? sound card?
Thanks guys for your work and effort
The screen is responsive and the touchscreen works well, but I don't have multi touch working. The netbook remix runs very smooth for me. Batter life is at 4-5 hours for me, and I have the 8 cell battery. I don't have the accelermoter working, I don't know about the sound/microphone yet. I haven't tried, but most of my sound issues are usually fixed by compiling the latest alsa driver.
After seeing the lenovo U1 below, I am kind of wishing I would have waited. It will probably cost a bit more, but I am thinking it may have been worth the wait.
