Can ClamAV scan files for windows while in the Ubuntu Linux partition or from a live cd? I know that Clamwin is out there, but for my purposes, using ClamAV is significantly better.
Thanks in advance!

That has been about the only use that I have ClamAV or Avast installed in Ubuntu. I use it to scan my Windows drive from time to time.
Well, a few years ago I had a dual-boot system and I had used the clam to scan the whole thing. (had been having many problems with the windows and wanted to see what, if anything, it might find.).
Worked beautifully... found viruses on the windows partition with no problem.
So, I think it would work for you. (I got rid of windows about a year ago...only thing I was using it for was games and have found some online and linux games that were pretty much just as good.
