Hi

I've just installed Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10 on my girlfriends Acer Aspire One 150 ZG5, and the internal microphone is giving me problems.

On the clean install everything supposedly worked with pulseaudio, but when setting up Google Talk over Empathy, voice calls falls silent (ie. the mic doesn't register any sound). Sound recorder worked though. I tried installing the newest version of Skype, but the same problem persisted.

Then I followed a guide which held your hand through removing pulseaudio completely and set up Alsa instead as the sound manager. This fixed voice in Skype, but still no luck with Gtalk through Empathy.

How do I choose which input source Empathy uses? I haven't been able to find any information using my Google-fu and this is pretty critical since my girlfriend is going away for some time and won't be able to make regular calls through her cellphone.

Any help is much appreciated.
