Hey guys,
I actually switched from Fedora to ubuntu and this was one of the main things I was hoping would be fixed for me. Naturally I have a host of reasons why I'll be staying with ubuntu now, at any rate here's the problem:
In many games, such as Teeworlds, or tuxracer, that use a default resolution of 800x600, I get a sync out of range message on my monitor, and of course the screen goes blank and I have to (if I'm lucky) switch to a console and restart xorg.
My monitor handles 800x600, and in Windows I don't have this issue. All I want is for some suggestions, maybe a series of modelines to try, one by one that I can sort through this.
My knowledge of Xorg and it's conf is minimal, so bear that in mind please. I really need some suggestions, as though tux racer and the like aren't a huge deal, I would like to do some gaming on this machine if possible, which I know it is.
Again, the Monitor is a Sony Multiscan E400. My video card is an onboard nvidia (GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 )
Thanks in advance.
