    Wireless Mobile Mouse

Using Ubuntu 9.10 with MicroSoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000.

This mouse has a tiny USB module that plugs into the USB port and a wireless RF mouse. Although it works, mouse movements and the scroll wheel appear to update very slowly, at times a motion on the mouse can take most of 1 second to update making it very jerky and unusable. A regular USB mouse works fine with my Ubuntu machine. The wireless mouse works fine with my XP portable. I'm using whatever default driver installs under 9.10 .

Any ideas for a solution ?

Do other wireless mice work? I think it may something particular to your system. I have a Microsoft® Wireless Mouse 5000 and it works fine.

I had the USB part plugged into the rear of my computer case. I think it is possible that the metal case was partially blocking the RF signal. I've moved to the front USB port and it may be working fine now.
