Yeah i am on the mailing list from a few months back. Work got in the way a bit so i wasn't to active on that. I also did some Afrikaans translations as well. I was just wondering how active the JHB group was with launch parties and the like.
They have been having release parties.
Just a reminder, but with the internet, physical location nearly becomes obsolete. It *is* nice however to attend some physical events and meetings.
Intel P4 2.8Ghz, 1Gb DDR2, 80Gb SATA, Ubuntu 9.10 Acer Aspire One::Ubuntu 9.10 http://nuvolari.co.za/
no physical meetups are aways more cool. Wasn't your release party last year much nicer then this years one? I find the physical meets also cater to people that aren't as "geeky" and don't sit on irc/forums.
Yeah i think eye balling the people you work with on projects once in a while is actually a very nice touch... makes you remember your human

I was reading up on that last night in the news and event section we really need to look at doing something similar in JHB. I hate being the only Linux fan boy that I know...
Drop into IRC and you will meet a few others. There is also a pretty active #glug.za on freenode with other linux users not only Ubuntu.
