how do I boost my wifi signal?

anyone know how to boost the wifi signal from my router?

I have a D-Link 524 router, and I wanted to know if anyone knew how to increase the transmit strength by tweaking the software.

I saw a video on youtube where a guy mentions doing this on a linksys router with a program called t-bore 15 , but he didn't provide a link to the software or any instructions on how to do it.
