Fedora 12, ubuntu 8.04 dual boot

I hope this is in the right place. I've had a little search around and I can't find what I'm looking for or what I have found is slightly above my competence level.

Okay, here's the score: I have ubuntu 8.04 installed on a full disk partition. I've just bought a linux magazine, which came with a CD containing Fedora 12. I want to dual boot or fully install while retaining my music, if at all possible.

I've tried running the Fedora disc and choosing to fill empty space with Fedora, but I get an error informing me that I don't have enough space. Presumably, this is because I have a full disk partition.

    Thanks for any help!

I shrank my existing partition and installed Fedora, but now I don't get a choice of distros when I boot. I am thinking of following this article, but I'm not sure if this will hold true for Grub 2.
    Is this fine?
