Question Canon i-sensys MF3228 (MF3200 series) as Windows share

    Hi.

Having a Canon i-sensys MF3228 (MF3200 series) connected to Windows XP desktop. Need to print there from my Ubuntu 9.04 on Acer laptop.
But there is no appropriate driver neither in Ubuntu nor at Canon's website.

Any ideas how to get it working?
Is there a kind of universal driver/service for Windows, which emulates some (known to Ubuntu) printer and acts like middleware - prints using system printer? This would solve the problem.

Exclamation Using Canon i-sensys MF 3228 (MF 3200 series) from Ubuntu

Well, now I'm installing Ubuntu on my mother's desktop...
And faced the problem with Canon MF 3228 for the second time, but this time the problem is critical and its not related to any kind of sharing - the printer is connected to USB. Without the ability to print and scan - my attempt to move my mother to the Linux will fail - she is language teacher and needs to print lessons often.

Now, have you any idea what could be done? Is there a wrapper or something which would allow to use the device? Can I use some special PPD and where to get one? Help is needed!
