Exact same problem here...Nautilus crashes when Computer, Network, or Trash Can are clicked....running 64-bit 9.04; problem started today after running updates (hadn't updated in a couple of weeks).

Same problem here, when I open network or trash, nautilus crashes and the desktop icons disappear. After that, if I run nautilus as root the desktop wallpaper changes to the default one.
Has anybody solution?? I can't work now
Same Problem here. Installed 9.04 updates and can't login anymore to windows or linux network shares.
on placeholder ${1} I have clicked the windows network share. Somebody knows how could we rollback to the situation before the update (downgrade).

Never mind I had to install smbfs and add the user name and password.

The same problem.
Just try to downgrade glib packets, while issue isn't solved:
$ sudo aptitude install libglib2.0-0=2.20.1-0ubuntu2.1
It helps me.

First post so be kind. I had the same problem nautilius crashed when i clicked computer. I rolled back smbclient and this downgraded samba-common and now it works again. Hope this helps.
THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!! I had tried to downgrade but I tried forcing the version to the previous one through Synaptic and it kept on telling me that it would have to remove a BUNCH of other applications for that.....AHHHHHHH IT WORKED!!!!!!!
Seriously, awesome. Now I'll just remember not to update that package.
